Overview
Motorboat past the cataract islands to Gharb Soheil — painted houses, tea with a Nubian family and the Nile at golden hour.
- Boat ride through the First Cataract islands
- Tea and home-baked bread in a Nubian house
- The painted domes of Gharb Soheil
- Sunset on the Nile
Nubia had its own kingdoms, language and architecture long before the dams. We take a boat through the First Cataract to Gharb Soheil, visit a Nubian home for tea and bread, learn a few words of Nubian, and return as the sun drops behind the dunes.
Easy, gentle and loved by kids.
How I run this tour
- It is private: just you, your companions, me and a driver.
- The timings are a plan, not a schedule — we slow down wherever you want to.
- Questions are the point. Nothing is too basic or too nerdy.
“The stones are 4,500 years old. The stories should still feel alive.”

“Organised everything over WhatsApp in two messages. On the day it all just worked. Worth every dollar.”
“Honest, funny and incredibly knowledgeable. He told us which add-on tickets were worth it and which weren’t, and never once took us to a shop we didn’t ask for.”
