Philae, the High Dam & a felucca at sunset
- Duration

The island temple of Isis, the dam that changed Egypt, and the Nile under sail as the sun goes down behind the west-bank dunes.
- The Temple of Isis on Agilkia Island
- The Unfinished Obelisk in the ancient quarry
- The Aswan High Dam and Lake Nasser
- A private felucca around Elephantine and Kitchener’s Island
Philae was the last place in Egypt where the old gods were worshipped — and in the 1970s it was moved, block by block, to a higher island to save it from the water. We reach it by motorboat, then see the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk, and finish under a felucca sail among the granite islands.
How I run this tour
- It is private: just you, your companions, me and a driver.
- The timings are a plan, not a schedule — we slow down wherever you want to.
- Questions are the point. Nothing is too basic or too nerdy.
“The stones are 4,500 years old. The stories should still feel alive.”

“Excellent content and very well organised. Traffic on the way back was heavy, which no one can control, but the tour itself was superb.”
